🌴 Mauritius – A Chilled Day in Flic en Flac

Today was deliberately low-effort. After a few busier days exploring the south, we decided to stay local and keep things simple around Flic en Flac.

🚲 Morning Bike Ride

We borrowed two bikes from Maison Tropicale and went for a short ride around the area. Nothing adventurous — just cycling through the nearby streets, getting a feel for the neighbourhood and stretching our legs. It was an easy, flat route, a mix of holiday rentals, small shops, and the usual morning activity starting up.

🍽️ Lunch at Creole Shack

Creole Shack

For lunch we went to Creole Shack — a straightforward table d’hôte spot serving home-style Mauritian food. You are served a set menu buffet style in a group setting.

🏡 Afternoon at Maison Tropicale

After that we headed back to Maison Tropicale. We had a swim, sat around the pool for a while, and caught up on doing nothing. It’s quiet and shaded enough to actually relax without feeling like you’re melting.

🍕 Dinner at Chez Pepe

Chez Pepe

Later we walked over to Chez Pepe for dinner. It’s a busy pizza-and-pasta restaurant, no fuss, and the food comes out quickly. A solid option when you don’t want to think too much about where to go.

🌙 A Simple Day

No big sights, no long drives — just an easy day that broke up the pace a bit.
